One of the advantages of growing up in Lacombe was the opportunities it provided for playing a variety of sports. Being a multi-sport athlete not only taught me the value of hard work, time management, and the importance of living a physically active life, but it also fueled my passion to continually seek effective ways to enhance one’s performance.
To support my passion I decided to attend the University of Calgary, where I pursued both a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Commerce. While attending postsecondary I continued to be involved in sports, playing fastball at the intercollegiate level, being a participant and administrator with the Dino’s Cheerleading Team, and teaching dance. It was during this time that I was also exposed to the world of personal training and strength and conditioning.
Since that time, strength and conditioning has been an indispensible vehicle that has allowed me to share my passion and knowledge in enhancing athletic performances. As such, I have accumulated nine years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach in recreation centers, soccer clubs, and at a sport school. To enhance my own coaching performance I have recently obtained a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation from the University of Alberta. While pursuing my master’s I had the opportunity take a semester abroad at the Norwegian School of Sport Science. In addition to attending classes there, I was also able to shadow strength and conditioning coaches in an elite youth training facility and at the Olympic training center in Oslo.
Now, as a recent graduate in Central Alberta I am exciting to be joining the TnT family! I am looking forward to sharing my passion and knowledge in a manner that will assist you in reaching your performance goals.
